General discussion about Good Charlotte

I saw Good Charlotte last Friday guys! I finally got to a computer. Words can't describe how amazing the show was. Yes Joel was drinking but nowhere near the way he was at the JD set. I only got to take a few photos i'm a bit upset. All my photos of Paul are partly blurry and every photo i took of Dean one of the other guys got in the way. -_- I got a bunch of Billy, Joel and a few of Benji. They sounded absolutely amazing! I was so pumped i had trouble staying in line all day i was so excited.

I probably didn't mention it before but my fiance looks a fair bit like Billy. Well, so much alike Billy himself has said it. His hair was similar to Billy's last time they were here but Billy's was shorter. Well Billy has grown it out so their haircuts are the same. When Billy came out on stage and i waved he gave me a smile and a wink, something we do at every show because i'm always in front of him. Then he saw my fiance and he went wide eyed. When i looked at Jesse (my fiance) then to Billy then back to Jesse it was like a fricking mirror! The two boys look so much alike the only difference being Jesse is a bit skinnier and taller than Billy. Sorry, i had to share that! Joel had a similar reaction when he came over near us.

I was pretty stoked with the set. Benji wouldn't play Seasons though which is my favorite GC song. Benji played Beautiful Place acoustically. I love that song and i'm pretty sure that's only the first or second time i've heard it live. As much as i loved the show i felt horrible knowing Billy had to leave his newborn son behind and Paul had to leave his wife and she hasn't even had the baby yet. It made me feel so slack having them here when they should be with their families. Billy was smiling but most of the time you could tell he had other things on his mind.

Just thought i would share. This is all i had on the top of my head and i wanted to share before i forgot to. If you have any questions ask away.

Wow. Just logged in here for the first time in like a month. Kind of cool you did that too, today haha!

And that sounds amazing! I've been watching some videos from the shows, also read about them. It's so exciting to see them back again even though it's only for a few shows. And lucky you, having a fiance looking like billy So cool how big the venues were too. Read somewhere that a fan had catched Paul walking over to Billy being like "Wow" over how crazy the crowd was.

Haha great minds think alike!

I was just so lucky that i got to see them this time because i nearly didn't. At first all that was announced was they were doing the NRL grand final in NSW, Fat As Butter in Newcastle and the v8 touring cars show in QLD. The problem was with FAB and the v8s i already had something on both days. I was doing a show the same night as FAB (i should mention i'm a roadie) and the v8s are on Oct 20, the day of my fiances 21st. Those dates were out of the question and they only played 2 songs at the NRL, hardly the same as a show. When they announced a side show in Sydney i was over the moon.

I am very lucky to have him. Yes he looks like Billy but more important he is the most loving person i have ever met. How he puts up with me i will never know.

As i said the last show where they covered the Weezer songs was easily the worst show and this was the complete opposite. They were all energetic and Joel was no where near as drunk. Billy was a bit weird, he kept smiling but there was a few times he just stared down at his guitar and you could tell his mind was elsewhere. There was a few times i saw Paul and Billy pointing and talking to each other. I think they were excited to see so many people turn up and be as crazy as we were.

You're welcome, i love sharing stories about shows. On October 10 it has been 11 years since my first gig which was actually Good Charlotte. My mom still doesn't know i went haha

Also a big congrats to Paul on the newest addition to his family.

They probably won't break up or anything but I sure believe the hiatus (yes, I call it hiatus even if they insist on calling it pause) will be for long. They just don't seem ready at all to write new music for GC or tour with GC.

It's really sad and I wish they could do something special every now and then, maybe a video or something where they talk about Good Charlotte and explain a bit what's going on.

Let's hope they have something special for October and the 10 years anniversary for TYATH.

I've been a GC fan for 15 years now. And I have not seen them live yet. Their hiatus is frustrating me. I can't fly down under to see them live. What's left for a GC sister?
